Kao Jaab, man of humour, born in Phanatnikhom, Chon Buri, Thailand has Kotra Zian Ko Chun or Kao Jing in Thai เกาจิ้ง, Chow Yun Fat, the leading actor in film God of Gamblers, as his idol. Graduated Master degree in Dummy, he had been practicing dummy for a long time from many fields, but he thought that the dummy he was practicing was not the real art of dummy.
In 1997, he had a small talk with a playboy from Kamphaeng Phet Province about playing dummy and co- designed Thai knock dummy rules. The five key principles of Thai knock dummy rules are:
1. The knocker is a winner, gets points and knock values. The losers count their cards scores to put the 3 levels of losing points in order: lose less, lose medium and lose more.
2. The player who holds Speto , two of clubs or queen of spades, gets or loses double points either in dark or light gameplay.
3. The player who discards the fool card must pay the fool value to all the players and pay double to the knocker.
4. The player who discards the dummy card or discards to make the full meld, must pay the dummy discard or the full meld discard to all the players.
5. The player who discards the defensive card or discards the card close to the Head or Speto card, must pay the Head or Speto value for other hands to the one who can pick the Head or Speto within a turn.
On that day, there were four people causing a quorum by chance. He formed the Dummy Club on 13 October 1997 and began the first meeting on trying knock dummy rules.
Later, he wrote very strict knock dummy rules which were considered the original of today’s knock dummy rules. His famous classic work is Sun Wu The Art of Dummy and 36 Strategies. He is a widely known publisher of knock dummy rules,and a dark dummy player with such high skills and good actions that everyone wants to play with him.
The stories of knock dummy are written by studying many kinds of books, with a very long suffering experience, with a real expensive lesson and intentionally just for fun, not for gambling promotion, though some are related to gambling.
